Wolfgang Grasse died in Penguin Tasmania on or about 17 August 2008. His partner Noelene drowned several days prior. Wolfgang Grasse was a strange man but the world will be a less fantastic place without him.

08/29i have a pair of his beautifully printed books. i'm proud to have his work in my own library to show to my children someday. knowing a bit about his life and origins, the thought of him losing his mate in such a way is enough to shake my core.

09/09Wolfgang was a regular at a Penguin institution, The Groovy Penguin Cafe. Over the past year we have seen him less and less as he became more reclusive. Rumors about his death began circulating on the 18th and it was confirmed that he had been found dead a few days later. Wolfgang's vision was extraordinary and I am glad to have known him personally. -
